With so much information on the Web, how do you stay organized online?

It's not that hard. I just leave all my information gathering to one or two sites. Mainly Wikipedia. Sure people complain that it can be inaccurate, but it works for me. And if I need to look up the definition of a word I simply use google. "define:word" works every time.

Writer's Block: Book review

What (if any) books would you ban from a high school library? Are there certain subjects that you feel are inappropriate for teenagers regardless of literary merit?

View 1437 Answers

None. Withholding books only makes teenagers want to seek that topic out more. Teens love things that adults don't approve of. Hence whey they always do the opposite of what a parent tells them.

Besides, if a teenager wants to read then they should be able to read whatever they want. It's remarkable to find a teen who wants to read. So you should try and keep them interested with a unbias selection.

Writer's Block: Famous last words

If you were close to death, what would you choose for your last words? To whom would you want to say them?

Depends on how many last words I get. :/ If it's just one sentence, which I assume it would be. Then I'd want to say to Ken, 'I love you, pass it on to my family'.

At least that way I can kill two birds with one stone. Tell my significant other that I love him, while getting him to tell my family the same. [Abby of course included]

The stupid skank is going to be a cameo in the next Sex and the City movie.

Why must everything be about this annoying girl? Even a movie that has no reason showing a tween star as a cameo. Fuck her.

Replace her scene with some more cock action. That's what the fans want!!

YouTube Leeches / Alicia Keys

I'm glad that when a celebrity fails on tv that people on youtube take their chance and try and get a million views by using a fake thumbnail, fake title and fake description. If I wanted to see your fucking face, I would click on a video with your stupid ass face on it.

Fuck off you leeches. I hope you die.

/rage

Seriously though, they need to get off it. It is literally impossible to find REAL videos on YouTube anymore. You just find vlogs that are whored out and misrepresented. It's bullshit. YouTube needs to crack down on this SPAM. As that's what it is, go into the flag of spam and a lot of the options are for this kind of behavior. 'Misleading thumbnail', 'Misleading Text'.

Ban those asshats.

edit; Alicia Keys' has a new single on the way. I like it, not as epic as No One but the lyrics are once again on point. Love her.

So I was bored after playing with my Wii... boy I wish Nintendo kept the name 'Revolution' for their console... anyway, after I was done playing with my Wii I decided to get on the internet on it for the first time. Since now the Internet Channel is, once again, free like it should be.

I decided to google gay men just to see what came up and the second thing that popped up was Gay Men and Bareback Sex. Some article about it, so I figured I would read it to see what it was about. [well, more so to see what it said about it since i knew what it was about...]

And what's part of the article? "So, why do some men still bareback? There are a number of reasons some individuals engage in unprotected sex, which can include:"

And what do they figure are the reasons worth noting as to why some gay men still bareback?

1. Increased Apathy Over the Transmission of HIV. "Some believe the myth that, as a gay man, contracting HIV is nevitable or unavoidable or that the virus can been controlled with advanced HIV medications." [I have never heard anyone ever say that or think that. And they don't know how to spell inevitable.]

2. Anxiety Over Contracting HIV. Meaning people who want to get HIV or want to give it to other people on purpose.

3. Both Partners Are Already HIV Positive.

4. Some "Live for the Moment."

5. Low Self-Esteem.

6. Drug Use.

What is that shit? Sounds like a bunch of crap. I was reading it and by the THIRD option I noticed a pattern. They are basically portraying gays who have unprotected sex as either drug addicts, or people who have low self esteem, or guys who already have HIV, or people that WANT HIV, or people who want to GIVE HIV to others, and even those who are plain retarded and think they'll get it eventually so don't care.

In other words, they make us gays sound like a bunch of fucking retards. You'd think one of the things listed would be positive. It's like we as gay men never ever have a trusting monogamous relationship where both parties aren't douchebags.

The sad thing is this is supposed to be part of 'About.com'. Which I would assume would be about giving out valid information. I guess it's just a bias piece of shit.

$50 says that an article on this same site about straight couples and unprotected sex WOULD in fact mention a monogamous relationship and/or married couples. I won't bother looking since my rant is over.

STFU about MJ

Yay abbreviations.

I'm so tired of people talking about Michael Jackson. I've never been much of a fan of his music. But my point is that he hasn't actually BEEN a 'great' musician in years. Since he went insane, dyed his skin white, fed his nose to a bear, and molested children. The latter of which I can't help but believe is true.

He may have been great in the day, but when he died nothing was lost. He wasn't making great music anymore, he was making headlines for being insane. So there is no big loss, and I'm tired of hearing about it.

He's dead. Good for him. Frankly, I don't really care that he died. He offered nothing to the music world anymore. To me, Micheal Jackson died when he became a white, noseless pedophile.

/rant

This was sparked because I was watching a Aaliyah music video on YouTube and multiple people keep mentioning MJ along with Aaliyah. She was a loss. She was making music, had a lot of movie roles coming up and had her whole life ahead of her. And she didn't die of old age, she died in a tragic plane crash. That is a loss. MJ wasn't a loss to anything.

I probably spelled his first name wrong, I've never liked that name.

Birthday Blues

  • Jul. 25th, 2009 at 2:35 PM

My birthday is coming up, which has never been that great of a time for me. All it does is remind me of when my grandma died, since she died so soon after my birthday when I was 8 years old that I can't just enjoy it.

You'd think that after 13 years it wouldn't be such a big deal, but it still sucks. I get older and her memory gets further away from me. It's just hard to explain. My sisters have far more memories of her than I do. I just remember her love being there, and the it not. With a few random pieces of memories tossed in. Even those are vague.

My three greatest memories are of her love for me, my mom telling me that she died which made me run off and hide while I cried. And me balling my eyes out on the day of her funeral.

It's just unfair. My birthday is just a glaring reminder of when the most amazing person in my life was taken away from me. I didn't even realize my birthday was coming up until Ken mentioned it. I guess I block it out for as long as possible.

Writer's Block: You're a Winner!

Have you ever won a contest, drawing, or lottery? What was the prize?

View 502 Answers

When I was pretty young I won a coloring contest. I colored a snowman and won. Not sure if they based it off skill or a drawing [which most children contests do now, which is just fail] I remember some kid coloring in the snowman completely black. What snow is pitch black? Weird.

Anyhoo, I won this massive stocking full of a bunch of toys and stuffed animals. One of which was this adorable mouse. My grandpa has a picture of it on his fridge from the paper, which I was in for being the winner. I remember taking the picture and feeling the same as I do now about pictures. Nervous and freaked out. =P

The stocking had a lot of cool stuff in it. Most of which I no longer have, thanks to my mother who would periodically throw away my stuff. Bitch.

Dragon Tales and Ghost Writer

As awesome as I am, I like a lot of stuff. Even if it's childish. =P

I was flipping through channels today and saw that one of the shows I watched when I was younger was on. And by younger I mean, 12. =P Hmm... I wonder if Ghost Writer is on DVD? ... that's another show that I used to watch all the time.

The opening is hella cheesy, but I bet 500 bucks that I'd still like the show itself. Hell, I still liked Dragon Tales, My Little Pony, Care Bears, Franklin, etc. They make me happy. :3

I miss my childhood. Ah, when things were simple or at least they seemed that way. :D

At least, that's my take on this video. And I've suspected as much for years.

I'm sure it's not completely the case for 100% of people, but I'm sure the vast majority of the time it is. Which is just ironic. So afraid of their own feelings, that they have to hate people who remind themselves of this part of them which they're scared of. Kind of reminds me of how, some parents treat their children badly, because they [the children] remind them of negative aspects of themselves.

It's time to face up to yourself. Stop putting others down to avoid looking into yourself.

This women is a genius. It's pretty sad that people aren't even have as smart as she is. It's not hard to understand what needs to be done in the world. It's just that people are too retarded to put their own best interest aside and work for the better interest of all. I'm subscribed to her youtube channel and always enjoy watching her videos.

She was talking with Wolf Blitzer, who looks familiar for some reason, in her newest 2 videos. She ended up talking about the education system in low income countries and how it would take 11 billion dollars annually to get every child into a school. She believes it's a good investment. And then she mentioned how the banking system and how much money has went fixing that. She said 100 billion went toward it, not sure how accurate that is, but it wouldn't surprise me. Hell, don't bail out the fail car companies and give some money to schooling.

"I'm a strong believer that education should be agenda free. Certainly free from political agendas or religious agendas, because every child should be given the ability to learn how to think and not what to think. They should be given the tools of how to explore the rest of the world, how to surf the internet, how to acquire knowledge. And then they make their own judgments about the rest of the world. And there's nothing worse that anyone can do then to feed stereotypes and prejudice in young people's minds and to try to shape the way they think and they view the world. Cause I think at the end of the day when we grow up we have to have the right tools to make our own decisions. And if that happens, then that's something we should fight anywhere. Whether it's in the Arab world, in the west, in some cases you see it happening in the United States. All over the world you have people trying to pass their own prejudice and stereotypes onto the younger generation. And that for me, is a terrible thing, that is almost the equivalent of the abuse of children." ~ Queen Rania
